'The Charroux-59-PZ' 59" Cast Iron Chariot Tub with PURE METAL Polished Zinc Exterior and Drain (polished zinc looks like silver but does not tarnish like silver)

Product Description

Perhaps the most elegant of all bathtubs, this Chariot Standing offers a large bathing area with a sit up position. It has excellent depth to overflow for a really deep soak.
Our 59” long version of this beautiful Chariot style floor standing bathtub was inspired by the original Chariot tubs manufactured by Rogeat in Lyon, France around the 1850’s. The original was a little narrow for modern bathing expectations and we make ours a little wider. The additional width does not deflect from the beauty of the original piece.
For most single bathers, the 59” version is amply sized inside.

Finishing

This is our simply stunning 59” Polished Zinc finish. The cast iron tub is left in its original form as it exits the mold and cleaned of any excess iron scale. We then finish the inside of the tub with thick, bright white enamel before completing the exterior. Onto the raw iron exterior, we apply twelve layers of pure molten zinc.
While still retaining some original cast marks, the zinc is an almost mirror silver raw living finish that may tarnish or darken very slightly over the years. It is very simple to maintain and a wipe with a soft cloth and some soapy water will remove most marks. For more stubborn stains, a soft cloth with some Mothers polish will remove these easily.
