Finishing
The exterior appearance is that of an old copper tub that has naturally patinated over a few decades of life. To achieve this, Penhaglion first applied three coats of metallic copper coating on top of an epoxy primed exterior. Using specially prepared aging solutions, a natural looking patina effect is created. To protect the surface, four layers of high grade clear lacquer is applied to the finish. None of the patina can then stain floors or clothing and exterior cleaning is made very simple by using just a soft cloth. This tub can be made even more personal to the buyer who may request more green than blue or vice versa, and/or a little more or less copper being evident.
