Product Details
A sleek and extremely elegant French Bateau style freestanding tub. Our inspiration to manufacture this gorgeous bathtub came from an original Chariot tub produced by the French company Rogeat in Lyon, France around 1850.
To intersect with today's bathing expectations, we did make it several inches wider than the original. We also made the ends slope a little more than the original as we felt that today's bathers would prefer a little more recline at the back for additional comfort. Apart from these updates, it is very similar to the original Rogeat tub.
This is a truly stunning deep bathtub with a Living Finish copper exterior that is guaranteed to be the centerpiece of any fabulous spa retreat bathroom.

Finishing
Adapting specialized metal bonding technology, Penhaglion prepares and coats the tub exterior surfaces in the material of choice before presenting it in a light random brushed finish, ready to patinate. What form the patina takes depends solely on the environment inside the room, but whatever occurs, it is certain to be beautiful, unique and totally natural.
Unless a buyer prefers to retain the original or specific appearance on the metal, there is absolutely no maintenance required to allow these tub exteriors to flourish. Should only minimal exterior patination be an owners preference, the surface can be coated with natural beeswax to slow or prevent further patina formation.
These natural color and surface changes can vary in time from slow to quite fast. Most often however, the effects of the oxidization or tarnishing are not visually noticeable on a day to day basis. However, while nothing may be apparent to the naked eye, the patina will be developing. Should some individual markings not be to an owners liking, it is a small task to remove these and allow the finish to resurface.
